Double D Escalante
15 years ago I bought Double D boots and they were softer and fit right out of the box. The last 3 pair are hard leather, tight, must be broken in for who knows how long. These are not looser as some reviewers said, and I find the calf is tighter on these last 3 pairs than any other boots I have, and I do not have big calves. I wore a 5.5 until the last 15 years and went to size 6. I can still wear some of my 40 year old Larry Mahans that are 5.5, so my take is that Double D is just not the same as what I bought years ago. They do some wonderful boots that are so pretty and you want them, but to wear them is hard. I do not have the same problem with the Corral, or my earlier Double Ds. These are pretty boots, but I think this is my last pair of Double Ds. Boots are an individual thing and for most of you I am sure you would be happy with these.
