I love these boots, and was hesitant about my size and the translation to pointed boots, however, a size 10 for me was a true fit - they are remarkably comfortable and a work of art. I am an artist and architect and truly love the attention to detail, craft, and care that went into these boots and feel honored to wear them . . . with the additional coupon discount these were the lowest price secured anywhere that I searched - though it did also expand my research into the Old Gringo primary website to register these boots as well as to see other sale boots on their site that are not marked down on this site . . so in many ways I am grateful for this introduction to Old Gringo Boots and to River Trail Mercantile for their many lovely options and brands. The color of these boots is a rich dark deep chocolate and the contrasting stitching embroidery is a gorgeous blue/gray hue that shimmers in natural light and when light bounces off the surface overall. . . I just love these boots! I've got several of the Erin boots, different colors. They fit perfect from the first time I wear them. And you can't get any more comfortable!

This is my third pair of Erin boots by Old Gringo. I have the Bone, Brown and now the Chocolate. If I could find the red I'd get those too. They look great in jeans or skirt. You can't go wrong. I'm a fan for life!

Old Gringo certainly has some lovely boots and the shipment arrived fairly quickly. What I am most disappointed by is the return policy of Rivertrail Mercantile and the actual fit of these boots. I have never come across such difficult return policy provisions. I will definitely never order from this company again.
I was pleased to find these boots at a good price and used some gift money to buy them in early January before the sale expired even though living in Minnesota does not allow for wearing these boots much in January. I received them and wondered a little about the fit right out of the box but I set them aside for a few days to come back and try them on with some outfits. When I did that and realized that the fit did not warrant the multi-hundreds of dollars these cost I looked at returning them only to realize they would have to have been RECEIVED with in 14 days plus charge a 10% restocking fee and return shipping costs. I did not look specifically at the return policy at purchase (my fault) as it did not cross my mind that they would fit so differently from the Old Gringo boots I've tried on before. Also, the actual fit of my size 8 boots does not at all match the marketing image of these boots. In the image they appear to have a lot of space at the top of the shaft for the jeans inside. When I put them on they fit very snugly on my 13" calf and make my jeans bunch up more than I would expect. They are also such a narrow shaft and a very long boot tip that I feel like it looks like I'm wearing skis...not what the model looks like for sure. The model must be wearing a very small size (maybe a 5 or 6) to make them look so proportional and her calves must be closer to 11" around to allow for the space shown in the image. Others may not be as bothered with these things as I am but if any of these concerns resonate with you I'd recommend you NOT order from this company as the return policy is just too strict, especially for ordering cowboy boots online. Also, it appears that they still have the same boots for the same price as when I purchased them. It seems as though this company may have a fairly regular additional 25% off so if you are unsure at all, I would speculate you could wait for the next sale to appear rather than hurry yourself into a purchase from this company. Those are just my 2 cents and I certainly could not guarantee there will be the additional sale all the time but I've seen it a couple of times now. My review is just to give some perspective so others don't end up with what are expensive boots (for me) that aren't exactly what you want. Also, the blue stitching is much more muted than displayed here.

My boots arrived within a week and I live in Canada. Awesome!! These boots are gorgeous. I'm usually a 9 in Old Gringo and these were very snug at first. I could feel them loosening up after wearing them around the house. I think they will get looser with each wear. The heel and opening on these boots are a bit narrow. The stitching and the detail is amazing. The blue stitching is more of a dusty greyish blue. Its very very subtle and compliments the chocolate brown leather. This is a solid well made boot that's gorgeous!!

The Old Gringo boots were great, the service from the store was on right on it and the shipping for the boots I bought my wife were shipped the day I bought them....service like that is hard to find!!!!
Odd fit
Have to send them back, sadly as they are pretty, but the heel slips and the ball of the foot is too wide as well.

This was my first purchase from this merchant but it won't be my last! They have the best selection of boots and I love these Erin! They are lovely. The blue color is very light so it compliments the brown rather than overpowering it. I want these boots in Black and Bone-they are that beautiful! This merchant has fast shipping and excellent customer service. Highly recommended!!!

I love these boots, I got them in size 6 and they fit around my calves and feet perfectly. during the sale they ran out of size 6.5 so I got size 6, maybe it's a good thing that I got that size.
Top quality
This boot represents the quality I have come to expect from Old Gringo. The pattern stitching is a lovely darkish gray-blue highlighted with slightly rust shaded brown that contrasts in a subtle and charming way with the dark brown leather. As far as fit goes, I have short, wide feet with a high instep. My foot length is a 7 - 7.5 (38) depending upon the shoe however, I usually have to size up to 8 in a boot or dress shoe in order to fit my width. Given the length of the boot toe, I took a chance and ordered a 7.5. At first I had the devil of a time getting my foot INTO the boot but the leather is of a very high quality and the boot stretched more easily and quickly than I anticipated. Once my foot was in, there was plenty of room in the toe box. With just a couple of wears the boot has stretched here and there and now I can slide my chubby stubs in reasonably easily. The elongated toe is longer than the rounded toe styles Old Gringo makes and takes a little getting used to. I have read reviews stating the calf circumference of the boot was narrow. My calves are 14" where the boot hits and there is just enough room for skinny jeans or leggings without the boot feeling tight at the top. Finding boots to fit my odd feet has always been a huge hassle and Old Gringo has come through with flying colors. (And oh, that delightful smell of fine leather when I took them out of the box!)
Beautiful boots....
I ordered my boots on Saturday, and they arrived the following Tuesday. That was fabulous. Initially, I was a bit concerned about the fit, but after speaking with Clint I felt comfortable ordering my normal shoe size (9 medium). I'm glad I did because the boots fit like a glove. There is a little slippage in the heel, but I think's that's normal and will comform to my foot over time. They feel great, look great, and smell wonderful! There's nothing quite like the smell of new leather. The "teal" blue embroidery is not quite as bright as the picture and looks more like a grayish blue. It's still beautiful and goes well with the heel and sole coloration. The boot is extremely well made, and I can't wait to wear them. I normally have trouble with boots being too big in the calf area, but these fit pretty well. For once it pays to have "not so big" legs. Thanks for selling a great product, at a great sale price.

Boots run true to size. Stitching and details are beautiful and shuttle. Leather is soft and boots feel good the first time I put them on

Love the boots! They are so soft and comfortable it is hard to believe they are boots when you are wearing them. A big thanks to Patrick for taking actual pictures of the boots and forwarding them to me....I was skeptical whether they were as pretty as the online pic's. I've read reviews to buy them small and some say to buy them big. I bit the bullet and decided to order my actual size and they fit like a glove. They seem to form around your foot with no play in the heal. Anyway, I would 100% recommend them to anyone who wants a great quality boot.
New Favorite!
Received the boots very quickly and in excellent packaging. The boots are gorgeous and appear exactly as in the photo. A nice soft aqua against chocolate. The leather is beautiful and soft to the touch. Size is perfect - I ordered a 7, which is my normal boot (and shoe) size. The lower heel (my favorite) is comfy. Thanks for making a pair of boots that is both beautiful and of high quality. Just out of the box, Old Gringo may be my new favorite boot maker! :)

After looking at Old Gringo boots for months I decided to purchase the Erin Chocolate. I absolutely love them. They are, perhaps, more conservative than some of the other OG styles, but they go well with everything. Every time I wear them I find myself constantly looking at them. I am in love! The fit is amazing. My normal shoe size is 7 and the size 7 I purchased fit like they were custom made for my foot. They are super comfortable right out of the box. I am so happy with my purchase and I am glad I chose the Erin Chocolate they are so much more beautiful than the picture.
